Hobie is the Executive Director of the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. He gave us a great overview of the commission and told us that they issues 5,500 liquor licenses and 4,000 temporary licenses each year. He said that the Nebraska Liquor Commission is the second largest tax collection agency. Hobie addressed the party bus situation as well as smoking in bars. He mentioned that they have 3 commissioners that serve a staggered 3-year term and that they’re from diverse political backgrounds. They are currently looking for a district commissioner from this area.
