4/29 Business Meeting

Kevin Miller stood in for President Al Borchardt today.  Tom Klein took us through the balance sheet.  Other than that, Don Piersol reported that Pickle Card sales are showing about a 20% decrease in income.  He learned that three of the largest purchasers of the cards are no longer buying.  At this time, Don doesn’t see progress anytime in the future, which leaves us with less money to give away.

Other News

June 5th is our annual golf event at HiMark golf course.  We need club member to help us with golf balls.  This year we are providing each golfer with a Gateway Sertoma/Tabitha logoed golf balls.  We are asking each member to contribute $22.50 to help offset this expense.

We also need help securing golf teams and sponsors.  Anyone interested can go to this page, Gateway Sertoma Golf Event Registration.

The possible bus trip to the KC Royals game is set for July 21st.  The cost would be between $80-$90.  Let Ron McNulty know if you’re interested.

Jim Gourley is home and on his way to recovery.  Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

We are in need of some new faces at our meetings.  It’s time to start thinking about who might be good prospects to become a Gateway Sertoma Member.  Invite them to breakfast and have them try it out.

Do you have hearing aids?  Hearing Aid Bank is accepting used hearing aids to be refurbished.  Bring them in to our weekly meeting and they’ll be taken to the Barkley Center.

1/28 Business Meeting

Kevin Miller stepped in for President Al Borchardt who was out of state.  Business meeting was conducted as usual.  Larry Thorn stopped by for a visit and encouraged us to continue the great work in support to speech and hearing.  He reminded us that it was Gateway Sertoma who started the Hearing Aid Bank and how it’s great.

Ron McNulty is back home and making progress.  He’s hoping to be back with us in the next couple weeks.

It was noted that we have space for two additional advertisers in the bulletin for $100 each.

11/3 Business Meeting

Tom Klein gave us an updated on financials as Kevin Miller stepped in until President Al Borchardt arrived to lead the rest of the meeting.  Al asked Heath to give us a rundown of the new Gateway Sertoma website.  He explained it is currently in a ‘draft’ version.  Heath walked through each page of the site and welcomes any input on how we can improve it for ongoing success.

Clyde Johnson also received his “new member packet”, which included his membership pin, badge and certificate welcoming Clyde as a Sertoman.

There wasn’t any competition for first place this week, going to Steve Fulmer.

Appreciation Night at Risky’s
Don Piersol told us that 21 people came out and enjoyed a night at Risky’s in appreciation for their help in our pickle card sales.
