David Dunigan, PhD at UNL told us a lot about the virus research on east campus. The following is a potion of the purpose of this facility, “developing partnerships between basic and clinical researchers, working with human, animal, and potentially important plant systems with a common goal of unraveling the mechanisms of viral pathogenesis and replication. The understanding of these fundamental processes will enable the design of novel vaccines and therapeutic strategies to block disease.”
Dr. Dunigan also gave us information regarding Ebola and other viruses. It was a very informative and interesting conversation!

Harold complimented Don Tawzer for his help in putting together a successful silent auction. Next year’s Beerfest is in planning mode already. Harold would like you to contact him about any new ideas you might have that would make this event bigger and better in 2015.
