Jeff is the author of a book: The American Game, a fictional accounting of the game of baseball during the Civil War. He peppered us with antidotes about the Civil War and how soldiers from different sides came together. Baseball was one of those ways that soldiers got to know each other, outside of the battle fields.
Jeff gave us great insight into these acts and provided a new look at this era and the beginning of baseball in America. Jeff stuck around afterwards and signed copies of his book.
