3/18 Speaker: Heath Stukenholtz, Vice President – Tabitha Foundation

Heath gave us a great overview of what Tabitha is all about.  We don’t have enough space to cover the whole story here, but some of the highlights include:

Tabitha is a non-profit health care organization with a goal of breaking even financially each year.  They have a $52mm operating budget and serve in 28 southeast Nebraska counties.  Tabitha has 1,100+ employees.  Tabitha Meals on Wheels has over $300,000 deficit each year from the more than 70% of recipients who aren’t able to afford their meal.  A major goal of Tabitha is to keep people in their homes longer.

The attending membership at this weeks meeting voted and approved two sponsorships.  $1,000 for Brownell Elementary and $2,000 for the Nebraska Sertoma Hearing Aid Bank.

It’s that time of year again!  June 5th is our annual golf event at HiMark golf course.  We need club member to help get golf balls.

We also need help with teams and sponsors.  Anyone interested can go to this page, Gateway Sertoma Golf Event Registration.

We are in need of some new faces at our meetings.  It’s time to start thinking about who might be good prospects to become a Gateway Sertoma Member.  Invite them to breakfast and have them try it out.

Do you have hearing aids?  Hearing Aid Bank is accepting used hearing aids to be refurbished.  Bring them in to our weekly meeting and they’ll be taken to the Barkley Center.

DONT FORGET TO BRING IN THOSE BOX TOPS!
