12/10 Speaker: Dave Mlnarik – Executive Director of the Cornhusker State Games

Dave talked about what it takes to run the Cornhusker State Games and then discussed the changes with Nebraska hosting the State Games of America in 2015.  The National congress of the State Games has awarded hosting rights for the 2015 games and Dave explained how good it is for Lincoln, Omaha and the state of Nebraska.  The bi-annual event is expected to draw an estimated 20,000 athletes, 22,000 spectators and 5,000 volunteers.  Dave told us this will take place of the Cornhusker State Games next year.  He told us about the logistics and organization it takes to make it a success.  He also explained that we can get involved by volunteering, coming out to watch, or by donating.
